Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in business management, automotive manufacturing or supervision; or an equivalent amount of experience and education. This position requires four to six years experience in automotive manufacturing or assembly experience in production. Previous management experience in a Union setting along with machine and assembly practices is required.

This position requires the ability to motivate others, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and work supervised and unsupervised with a willingness to undertake additional training/classes as prescribed by management.  

Must have strong organizational and mechanical aptitude skills in a plant environment and solid understanding of safety practices and reporting procedures.

Position Description:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for day-to-day training, supervision scheduling, and staffing of hourly personnel engaged in production and manufacturing operations. This position enforces company policies and procedures and initiates initial disciplinary actions of shift employees. Reviews, implements, and adjusts production schedules and ensures quality standards are being met. Evaluates and solves production related problems providing progress reports as necessary.  

This position also interfaces with Union representatives on issues affecting employees and the production process, conducts shift meetings, and participates in team meetings and training sessions. This position occasionally assists in production processing when workload and manning levels require such assistance. Establishes an inventory system for production supplies, monitors shipping and receiving functions assisting as needed, and develops and monitors start-up and shutdown procedures.
